On October 13th, the University computer management suspected that our sensor-computer was hacked and subsequently disabled our access to our data server via UMD VPN network. We have since then resolved the issue, but our data transmission died under this ‘stress test’ and did not come back without human intervention, suggesting that our software is not yet ‘robust’ enough. A more resilient beta-version of the data collection/transmission software has been under intense development over the last month and is expected to be online soon.
